Mac App

Capture ideas, manage your library, and save from Safari with Teak for Mac

Teak for Mac brings your library and Safari saving together in a native Mac app. An internet connection is required to sign in, browse, and save.

Install and sign in

Install

Get Teak for Mac from the Mac App Store, then open it from Applications.

Choose Sign in, complete sign-in in your browser, and approve Teak for Mac. Return to the app to open your library.

Enable Safari saving

Open Safari → Settings → Extensions and enable Teak. Click its toolbar icon to save the current page.

The Mac app and Safari extension share your connection. Signing out here disconnects this installation; your browser session stays separate.

Your library

Search your cards, combine type filters, or show Favorites. Open a card to read its content, notes, summary, and tags. Open its source link, copy content, or download an attached file.

Use the heart to add or remove a favorite. In card details, choose Edit to change the title, notes, and tags, or Delete and confirm to move the card to Trash. Restore deleted cards in the web app. Changes sync to your other Teak apps.

Capture

Use the capture menu in the library header:

  • Save Link saves a URL.
  • New Note saves text.
  • New Quote saves a quotation.
  • Upload File… saves a supported image, video, audio file, or document.
  • Record Audio… records a voice note. Allow microphone access when prompted, then save the recording.

New cards appear in your library after saving. If a save fails, check your connection and try again.

Settings and menu bar

Open Settings to view your account and usage, change appearance, manage the Safari extension, or sign out. Turn on the optional menu bar item for quick access to Teak.

API keys, import, export, billing, and connection revocation are available in the web app.

Updates and limitations

Updates come through the Mac App Store. Enable automatic updates there or check its Updates section.

Drag-and-drop and paste-to-save are not supported. The app requires a connection and does not cache your library for offline use. Keyboard shortcuts are limited to Esc for dismissing sheets; there is no full app menu. The Mac app does not send crash reports or usage telemetry.
