What's New

Real updates that make Teak better. No corporate fluff, promise.

Upload polish and mobile sign-in stability

  • The iOS app now holds the launch screen while your saved sign-in is restored, so force-closing and reopening Teak is much less likely to send you back to the welcome screen.
  • Drag files anywhere inside the authenticated web and desktop apps and they upload in place, with one progress toast per batch instead of one per file. Folder drops and offline drops are rejected with a single, closeable explanation.
  • The drag-active hint is now a subtle page outline plus a compact top-center indicator, and the Upload button in the composer shares the same queue, validation, and results summary as drag-and-drop.

Desktop: fewer surprises and clearer updates

  • Fixed the repeating “Teak Safe Storage” keychain prompt some users saw on every launch. Teak never stored anything in the keychain, and the prompt stops on next launch with no action needed.
  • Clicking Check for Updates now shows a notification while the check runs, so it is clear something is happening instead of feeling like nothing did.
  • Starting a download shows a Downloading Teak notification with a percent badge on the Dock icon, and confirming the restart shows an Installing notification right before the app relaunches.

Raycast: new capture commands, tag browser, and AI tools

  • Save to Teak is now a one-shot command that accepts an argument or fallback text, so any root-search query can be saved with a single Enter press. Save Selected Text captures whatever is highlighted in the frontmost app.
  • Browse Tags lists every tag in your vault with per-tag card counts and lets you drill into a tag to search within it.
  • Raycast AI tools grew to include Get Recent Teak Cards, List Teak Tags, and Toggle Favorite. Anything that changes your data asks for confirmation before running.

Desktop app for macOS relaunched

  • The macOS desktop app has been rebuilt with all the features you already use: real-time sync, browser-based sign-in, native macOS menus, drag-and-drop uploads, and automatic updates. No workflow changes, no local data migration, just sign in once.
  • Auto-updates now come from a new release channel. If you are on an older desktop build, download the latest release manually from the Teak GitHub releases page to switch over.
  • The manual “Check for Updates…” menu item is temporarily gone and will return in a future release. Silent update checks still run on every launch.

Save posts from Instagram, Pinterest, and X right from the feed

  • The browser extension now adds a save button directly to posts on Instagram, Pinterest, X, Hacker News, Sidebar, Web Designer News, and HeyDesigner, saving the real article URL instead of the site wrapper. Saving the same post twice is safe.
  • Saved Instagram and X posts now capture the real text and attached media, so multi-image posts, reels, and video tweets render inline in the card modal instead of a blank shell.
  • Very tall images expand to the full preview width, and you can scroll vertically inside the preview to inspect long screenshots and portrait shots more comfortably.
