Browser Extension

The Teak browser extension lets you save pages, images, links, text, and social media posts to your Teak library in one click — without leaving your current tab.

  1. Open the Teak extension in the Chrome Web Store.

  2. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm by clicking Add extension.

  3. Click the Teak icon in your Chrome toolbar to sign in.

The extension works in Chrome and any Chromium-based browser (Edge, Brave, Arc, etc.).

When you open the extension popup, Teak automatically saves the current page. The popup briefly shows the save status, then closes itself:

  • Adding to Teak… — save in progress
  • Added to Teak! — saved successfully
  • Already saved — duplicate detected, nothing to do
  • Can’t save this page — restricted URL (e.g. chrome://, about:, file://)

Right-click anywhere on a page to access quick-save actions:

Menu itemWhat it saves
Save Page to TeakThe current URL
Save Text to TeakThe selected text (creates a text card)

Context menu saves are available on all standard web pages.

On supported sites, Teak injects a save button directly into each post or story. You can save individual items without leaving the feed.

PlatformSupported content

x.comPosts (tweets) — saved with tweet text, author, and attached images or videos

heydesigner.comStory links

Inline save buttons appear automatically once you are signed in to the extension. Each saved post is deduplicated — saving the same post twice will not create a duplicate card.

When you reach your free plan card limit, the extension popup shows an upgrade prompt instead of saving. Click Upgrade to Pro to open Teak Settings.

If you are not signed in, the popup shows Login and Create Account buttons. Clicking either opens the Teak web app in a new tab to complete sign-in.

  • Check that you are signed in at app.teakvault.com.
  • Reload the tab you are trying to save and try again.
  • Make sure you are signed in to the extension.
  • Reload the page. Buttons are injected after the page fully loads.
  • Verify the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions.
  • Inline buttons are supported on Instagram, Pinterest, X (Twitter), Hacker News, Sidebar, Web Designer News, and HeyDesigner. They are not available on other sites.
